Checklist for carry-on luggage


When going on a vacation, there a many important things you have to put in your suitcase when packing. Most of it goes in your registered luggage, but you can take a part of your luggage on board of the airplane with you, in a backpack for example. When packing, you should make sure that your valuables go in this carry-on luggage. The checklist below should give you an idea of which items to put in your carry-on luggage. - Wallet with cards/money/phone numbers
- Traveler's cheques
- Passport/Visa
- Vaccination certificate
- Boarding passes/Luggage tickets
- Keys
- Envelope with important papers
- Books/Magazines (It might be useful in case of delay or in plane)
- Any valuable item (Camera, music player, etc.)
- Paper, pencils, pens
- Bottles of less than 100mL
- Some airlines don't mind if you bring in fruits, chocolate or sandwiches on board. But be careful with which airlines allow it.
- Your laptop, if you want to bring it, but don't forget the cable to plug it
- Your photo camera, make sure to charge it beforehand
- Your purchases in the tax free part, which will be put in a sealed plastic bag, the only way for you to bring it on board.
- Some need their "Random Reader" to do transactions over the Internet (i.e.: Rabobank)
- Dictionary of the language of your destination, if you don't speak it.
- First importance medications (i.e.: Tylenols, Gravols, any prescribed medications), you might need the approval of your pharmacist/physician to bring it on board.
- Gum (very useful for when the plane lifts off or lands)
